How We Met: Charlie and I (Liza) went to Alabama together but never interacted much. It wasn’t until I moved home from Washington, D.C. and started seeing Charlie at mutual friends’ weddings that anything came about.

The Proposal: I wasn’t being very sweet the day Charlie proposed. Was in a bad mood for no good reason. We were supposed to go meet our friends for dinner and have a cocktail at Charlie’s house before. With dirty hair, ugly outfit and a bad attitude, I walked through Charlie’s front door to find him on one knee. We popped the champagne and life was good.

The Dress: I was the fifth cousin to wear the wedding dress. It was originally my cousin Bett’s wedding dress. Since her wedding in 2003, my two other cousins, Melissa and Sara Claire plus my sister Carolyne have all worn the dress before me.

Favorite Moment: Seeing Charlie so genuinely happy! And eating a vanilla baby bite.

Favorite Details: My favorite would have to be the gospel choir we had in the church. We walked out to “Oh Happy Day,” and then the choir lined the stairs outside of the church and continued to sing as our guests walked out.

What We Are Doing Now: I am the director of business development at Brawco, Inc. Charlie is a commercial lender at ServisFirst Bank. We have a mini golden doodle named Wally and he is a total mess.
