We all have March 26-30 marked for Spring Break, but there’s plenty of fun things to do the first three weeks of March, too. Here’s our list of what’s going on where around Mountain Brook this month.

1. Spencer Lecture : Laura Dowling

Thursday, March 1 | 5:30 p.m.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Come out to hear the author of A White House Christmas speak at the Botanical Gardens.

2. Move Toward a Cure

Sunday, March 4 | 9 am.-noon
Levite Jewish Community Center

This spin bike ride raises funds for the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

3. Village 2 Village Run

Saturday, March 10 | 7:30 a.m.
Mountain Brook Village

Run through your favorite villages and neighborhoods with around 1,000 of your neighbors and friends. A new USATF Certified Course earned lots of points with runners last year and will be back again, and along the course you’ll find iHeartRadio music vans and local families competing to see which home can provide the loudest and largest cheer station. Plus, there will be chocolate-dipped strawberries, mimosas and more on the other side of the finish line at the after party in Lake Parke. Not feeling the 10K? You can also choose the 7.5K option (4.6 miles). Register at runsignup.com.

4. Family Night: Arthur Atsma’s AtsMagic

Tuesday, March 13 | 5:30 p.m.
Emmet O’Neal Library

Bring out your family for this night of fun and magic. Find more library children’s events here too.

5. Teen Movie Night

Friday, March 16 | 6:30-10 p.m.
Emmet O’Neal Library

Teens can come out to the library to catch films on the screen. Find more library teen events here too.

6. Overton Park Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 17 | Noon
Overton Park

It’s not just about the egg hunt (although, what’s Easter without a hunt?). Come for face painting, photo booths, a cake walk, the Easter Bunny and more too. The event is hosted by Off Shoots Garden Club and Overton Park Garden Club.

7. Color4Friendship Color Run

Sunday, March 18 | 1:30 p.m.
Levite Jewish Community Center

Can running get more fun than getting doused from head to toe in different colors? There are just two rules for this event: One, wear white at the starting line, and two, finish plastered in color. Children must be age 6 or older to participate. Plus, Team Friendship plans the run to raise awareness for individuals with special needs. Register at color4friendship.rallybound.org.

8. Standing Room Only Presents a Beer & Cheese Tasting

Friday, March 23 | 6:30 p.m.
Emmet O’Neal Library

Ages 21+ only are invited for this delicious event. Find more library adult events here too.

9. Easter Egg Roll

Field in front of the Emmet O’Neal Library
Saturday, March 31 | 10 a.m.

It’s not Easter without eggs. Bring your kids for this annual event of fun and hunting. BYOB…bring your own basket, that is.

 10. Advent Lenten Lunches

Feb. 14-March 30
Weekdays at 12:05 p.m.
Cathedral Church of the Advent

Lunch is served! Or it will be during the six weeks of Lent leading up to Easter at Cathedral Church of the Advent. Each weekday the church hosts a preaching service at 12:05 p.m. as well as a homemade meal (and desserts!), just as it has since 1908. Find the full preaching schedule at adventbirmingham.org.
