1. Family Night: Activated Storytellers’ Tuneful Tales

2. Books in the Brook Pop-Up Storytime
Saturday, Feb. 9 | 10:30 a.m.
Join one of your favorite storytellers from the Emmet O’Neal Library at setting full of tasty muffins and more for this Saturday morning of fun.
3. Birmingham Boys Choir Collaborative Concert
Saturday, Feb. 9 | 4 p.m.
Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church
The boys’ choir’s Concert Choristers will join together with BBC Alumni Choir for this afternoon of music. Tickets, $15, are available at the door. Learn more here.
4. Southern Tales at the Gardens: Eglamore and Cristobel: A Medieval Love Story
Sunday, Feb. 20 | 2 p.m.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens Lecture Hall
In the voice, spirit and costume of a cranky crone, Dolores Hydock will bring to life this original adaptation of a passionate 14th-century tale of desire, heartache, treachery and the triumph of true love storytelling crone. Plus the medieval music trio PanHarmonium lends musical punctuation on harp, hurdy-gurdy, lute, viol, recorder and other instruments of old will join in on the performance. 5. Friends of the Emmet O’Neal Library Book Sale
Friday & Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 1-4 p.m.

Find some new reads for 2019 at this annual sale to benefit our favorite library. Friends of the Emmet O’Neal Library accepts book donations throughout the year to sell at this event, and you can drop them off at the back door of the library.
6. Sweet Repeats Consignment Sale
Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-noon
Mountain Brook Community Church Gym
Stock up on your kids’ wardrobes for spring and summer at reasonable prices at this sale held every February and September. Plus, proceeds support the church’s short-term mission trips to places such as San Diego, Peru, Hungary, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Consignors receive 75 percent of the selling price, and 25 percent goes to MBCC Missions. Many items will be half price on Saturday.
7. Birmingham Camellia Show
Saturday, Feb. 23 | 1-4 p.m.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Brighten your wintry days, and come out and see some of Birmingham’s best camellia blooms. The species originated in Asia, but today we have more than 200 species in North America. To learn more about the flower visit americancamellias.com.

Children’s Arts Guild Fashion Show Luncheon

Country Club of Birmingham
Come out to see 100 children model whimsical party wear, heirloom Easter attire, and sportswear and resort casual at this annual luncheon. The Children’s Arts Guild, founded in 1975, supports The Dance Foundation and its outreach in the community that reaches more than 2,000 students in 27 schools and child development centers annually. Run through your favorite villages and neighborhoods with around 1,000 of your neighbors and friends. Plus, there will be chocolate-dipped strawberries, mimosas and more on the other side of the finish line at the after party in Lake Parke. Not feeling the 10K?
